Ms. Tarver enjoys working with a class full of diverse students. She feels that everyone is unique in his/her own way, and has something to offer. She enjoys having the opportunity to observe her students, as they explore and discover the hidden talents that they have within themselves that they may have not known existed. Ms. Tarver instructs in the areas of ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, ethnic, ballroom, liturgical, improvisation, Dunham and composition. She not only teaches the students how to dance, but she also educates the students in other areas relating to dance, such as: terminology, history, biology, anatomy, music, stage presence, stage make up, performance etiquette and many other areas pertaining to dance. She enjoys keeping her dance team involved with performing throughout the community for various occasions and competitions. Ms. Tarver is looking forward to a new and exciting successful school year here at Mountain.

Students who are planning to enroll in a dance course at Mountain Ridge High School for the 2009-2010 school year and who feel that they may need to be placed higher than the Dance 1-2 level, may audition. For the audition, students need to perform a short solo incorporating, pirouettes, (turn out & parallel) flags, fouette turns, reverse, center, and split leaps, axials, etc. Students will need to bring their own music. The dance should be at least 45 seconds. Students should wear dance clothing or something they can move easily in. Any type of dance shoe is acceptable or bare feet.

December 11, 2009 and January 8, 2010
